Connected to the mainland by a pier in 60's, Güvercinada has also been home to a castle built by famous Turkish Mariner Barbaros Hayrettin in 16th century. During Ottoman Era this castle has served as a forward base against attacks from other islands. You can take unique photographs of your ship from the island.
